Ladies and Gentlemen, Esteemed Presidents of Universities Around the World

Ladies and Gentlemen, Esteemed Presidents of Universities Around the World,

With warm greetings and utmost respect,

You have undoubtedly been informed through recent news reports about the heinous actions of the criminal Zionist regime in the assassination of Iranian scientists. Undoubtedly, assassination at any time and in any place is an inhumane and deeply reprehensible act. The peaceful nature of Iranians’ activities, particularly those of Iranian scientists, has been repeatedly confirmed and emphasized in reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Now that the heavily armed Zionist regime has resorted to assassinating scientists and professors who have dedicated their lives to knowledge, science, peace, and security, it is imperative that this bloodthirsty act by the Israeli Zionist regime be condemned by professors, scientists, and students of universities worldwide. At a time when our beloved country, Iran—a civilized nation with a rich scientific and cultural heritage—is facing unprovoked aggression based on baseless claims by American and Israeli leaders, it must be noted that, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Iran has the right to defend itself and respond to the aggressor. Nevertheless, I call upon all university presidents across the globe to take into consideration the assassination of nuclear scientists by this despicable regime and join us in condemning it with solidarity.

Unfortunately, in recent days, a number of Iranian scientists have been assassinated by the usurping Zionist regime, including:

1. Dr. Fereydoon Abbasi
2. Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi
3. Ali Bokaei Karimi
4. Mansour Asgari
5. Saeed Borji
6. Dr. Abdolhamid Minuchehr
7. Dr. Ahmadreza Zolfaghari
8. Seyed Amirhossein Feghhi
9. Motalebizadeh

In addition to the above list, we must also remember the scientists who were martyred in terrorist attacks by the Zionist regime against our country in the not-too-distant past. Among them are martyrs such as Dr. Majid Shahriari, Engineer Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, Dr. Masoud Ali Mohammadi, Engineer Dariush Rezaeinejad, Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, and other Iranian scientists.

Based on the doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as repeatedly articulated by the Supreme Leader on the global stage, Iran does not seek nuclear weapons. These men of science devoted their entire lives to the pursuit of peaceful knowledge, striving to create a better life for humanity in an environment of peace. Yet, the anti-scientific stance of the Zionist regime delivered them to the executioners of assassination.

It is our hope that, through solidarity, empathy, and a scientific perspective, conditions will be established whereby the assassination of scientists in any country and any location will carry the severest consequences for the perpetrators.

I deeply appreciate your empathy and attention.

Dr. Seyfolah Saedodin
President of Semnan University
